Chrome Micro Kadet 3L Sling — the Kadet, reduced to its essentials

Fourth in the Kadet line and the first to go this small. Three litres is the volume of a bag you forget you are wearing: a phone, a wallet, keys, a multitool, a spare tube. Chrome kept the silhouette that made the Kadet a courier staple and shrank it to the size of a pocket that happens to sit across your chest.

What survived the reduction is the part that matters. The swappable SM buckle opens one-handed, exactly as it does on the full-size Kadet, and a padded U-lock holder sits flat against your back — so the sling that carries almost nothing still carries the one thing a city rider cannot leave behind.

Weather resistance

Built from 1050D recycled nylon with 1680D recycled ballistic nylon reinforcement over a 150D recycled polyester liner, PFAS-free and vegan throughout. The top zip is PU-coated, which keeps rain out of the main compartment on the ride. The Black XRF version adds a 0.5 mm TPU layer laminated with black reflective film — matte black by day, bright under headlights at night.

Frequently asked questions

How small is 3 litres, really?
Phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, a multitool and a spare tube — comfortably. A compact camera, at a push. It will not take a tablet or a water bottle. If you need that, the Mini Kadet at 5 litres or the Kadet at 9 litres are the next steps up.

Does the U-lock holder take a full-size lock?
It is padded and sized for standard U-locks. Mini locks sit securely. Given the bag's overall size, an oversized shackle lock will overwhelm it — bring yours to L'Hirondelle Bike Shop in Meppel and we will check the pairing before you commit.

Will it stay put while riding?
The strap cinches tight across the body and the low volume keeps it from swinging. For hard riding or if you want it locked in place, Chrome's stabiliser strap attaches to the same hardware and is sold separately.

What is the difference between Black and Black XRF?
Black is the standard nylon shell. Black XRF adds a laminated reflective film that reads as matte black in daylight and lights up under car headlights. It costs more and it is the safer choice for riding after dark.

Is the buckle really swappable?
Yes. The SM buckle can be exchanged for any compatible Chrome buckle, sold separately, which is how people end up with a collection of them.
