The children's bike WOOM EXPLORE 4 is the 20-inch all-rounder built for children aged 6 to 8, measuring between 115 and 130 cm. At just 7.8 kg, it is light enough for a child to lift, steer and control unaided - the detail that quietly turns a hesitant rider into a confident one.
Hydraulic disc brakes, seven gears and Schwalbe all-terrain tyres make it as capable on the school run as on a canal path or a gravel track. Matte paint, black components and black rims give it a sporty, understated look that young riders actually want to be seen on.

Not sure about the size?
The EXPLORE comes in three sizes. This EXPLORE 4 has 20-inch wheels for riders of 115 to 130 cm, the EXPLORE 5 has 24-inch wheels for 125 to 145 cm, and the EXPLORE 6 has 26-inch wheels for 140 to 165 cm. Where two sizes overlap, we generally recommend the smaller one for a first geared bike and the larger one for a confident rider who is still growing.

The bike is supplied without additional accessories. For riding on public roads, add lights, a bell and reflectors in line with local regulations.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if the EXPLORE 4 is the right size?
The EXPLORE 4 suits children between 115 and 130 cm, generally aged 6 to 8. Saddle height adjusts from 571 to 728 mm and the stem is adjustable in both height and reach, so the bike grows with the rider. If your child falls between two sizes, we are happy to advise you at L'Hirondelle Bike Shop in Meppel.
Is the kickstand included?
No. woom delivers its bikes without accessories. The LEGGIE kickstand in size M fits the EXPLORE 4 and is available on its own or in either of our two accessory packs.
Which accessories fit the EXPLORE 4?
The frame has dedicated threaded mounts: two under the chainstays for the LEGGIE kickstand, four on the seatstays for the PICKUP rack, and mounts on the fork crown, seatstays and axle nuts for the SNAP Click-On mudguards. Choose size Woom 4 for the mudguards and the rack, and size M for the kickstand.
What is the difference between the EXPLORE 4 and the EXPLORE 5?
Wheel size, fit and drivetrain. The EXPLORE 4 runs 20-inch wheels with a 7-speed Shimano Revoshift twist shifter, while the EXPLORE 5 runs 24-inch wheels with an 8-speed microSHIFT trigger shifter. The twist shifter on the EXPLORE 4 is deliberately chosen for younger riders who are still learning to change gear.
What does the warranty cover?
Two years on the frame and components as standard. Registering the bike with the woom Riders Club within nine weeks of purchase extends this to ten years on the aluminium frame, rigid fork, handlebars, stem and cranks, free of charge.
What is the maximum load?
