Wilde Bicycle Co. builds steel bikes in Minneapolis for people who ride in the real world. Gravel, touring, commuting, singletrack shortcuts on the way home — the range is designed around bikes that do several things well rather than one thing perfectly, with the mounts, clearances and geometry to back that up.

The house tubeset is TLC chromoly — Tough, Light, Compliant — with diameters, wall thicknesses and butting profiles chosen model by model and size by size. Every frame is phosphate dipped and E.D. coated before paint, so corrosion protection starts inside the tubes. Production models are built at Maxway in Taiwan, one of the most respected steel frame factories in the industry, which keeps a frame of this specification within reach.

What sets Wilde apart is a stubborn commitment to comfort as performance. Stack heights run generous, tyre clearances are genuinely useful rather than marketing figures, and the smallest sizes are designed around 650B wheels from the start instead of being shrunk down from a larger frame. The result is a bike that is still enjoyable at hour six.
